I purchased the Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler 2.2L & 2.5L Turbo kit, the cost was $47.00
This project will detail how to install a BoostValve device to decrease 0-60mph times as well as decrease the 1/4 mile time.
The BoostValve incorrectly installed can cause SEVERE damage to your engine. Please read and follow all of the instructions that come with your BoostValve.
I have chosen 10lbs of boost as my maximum. You are welcome to try a higher number, remember that the computer is programmed to shut down the engine at 14 lbs.
Vacuum/Pressure gauge
10' of vacuum tubing
Scratch a mark in the top of the adjustment screw. This mark will be used later when you adjust the valve.
Loosen the adjustment lock screw and unscrew until at least seven threads are visible
Tighten the locknut
On the passenger side of the engine compartment, note the three solenoids. The middle of the three is used by the computer to control the Wastegate.
Note:
The vacuum hoses have already be removed from the solenoid.
Remove the two tubes that are connected to the wastegate solenoid
Gently blow into the tubes to determine which is connected to the intake manifold and which to the wastegate. The wastegate tube will have more resistance.
The top hose on my TC was connected to the intake manifold, the side hose was connected to the wastegate.
Attach the wastegate hose to the side nozzle and secure it with a hose clamp
Attach the manifold hose to the bottom nozzle and secure it with a hose clamp
Remove the nozzle cover shown and attach the vacuum gauge, don't lose the cover, you'll need it when you're finished.
Place the vacuum gauge and take a test drive.
This is a trial and error process that if not done carefully can totally ruin your day. Please take your time and pay attention to the boost gauge.
You'll need to make sure you take the wrench that locks the boost valve with you on your test drives
Do a few half throttle accelerations and keep a close eye on the gauge, you want to make sure it does not go over 10 lbs.
At some point you need to floor the throttle to insure that it also does not go over 10 lbs.
Park the car, open the hood and adjust the gauge clockwise -> more boost.
Don't forget to tighten the lock nut after every adjustment.
Loop the clamp around the boost valve, use a pair of pliers to crimp the clamp
Secure the clamp under the AC bracket
